Our funky guesthouse, the Shanti Lodge. It’s in the Dusit neighbourhood of Bangkok, close to the Thewit Pier and about 20 minutes walk from the (in)famous Khoa San Road.
There sure is something to be said for subdued (as in, non brilliant white fluorescent) lighting and good (non Bob Marley) music. Everything else is game here, though, including: dreadlocks, full body tats, piercings, baggy fishermen’s pants, hairy armpits (on women ???? ), and body odour.
Yep, Ellie’s sure getting an education.
