It’s wintertime here, but even so there is a lot of green to be seen. Brown too, but more green than one might expect. I’ve been looking forward to seeing rice paddies, and in the far north of Thailand, we seeing a lot of them.
recall reading somewhere that you can get the crops of rice in through the year. The only limitation is water; through a life cycle I don’t fully understand, rice requires a flooded field to grow. It’s backbreaking work, with each stalk of glorified grass being hand planted.
