Where's Teddy Now?

Things I Like

Things I like about the Calgary Folk Festival. And a few I don’t.

The Good

  1. The homemade ginger beer – sells out every year. Roy’s Carribean Foods.
  2. The food; tonnes of great. Homemade ethnic stuff.
  3. The backpackers. Haven’t seen so many dreds since the hostel in Roma.
  4. Festival Chairs. ’nuff said.
  5. Reusable plates. Two bucks gets you a real plate for yer meal. Then you get your two bucks back. Sweet deal, and no plate garbage.
  6. The venue. Prince’s Island, on the mighty Bow River.
  7. The dancing girls. Some are really fun to watch.

Things that Bite

  1. Old hippies. Face facts; the seventies are over.
  2. Last minute arrivals who sat in front of you.
  3. Political prosletyzing’ Matt, as much as we love you, we came to hear you sing. Shaddup and sing; we can read about your politics from the website.
  4. Roll up your tarps by 11:30 (10:00 on Sunday ?!?!). How fecking parochial, eh?
  5. That damned cow. Pure stinky cheese.
