Where's Teddy Now?

Resolve

I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions. But I do like goal setting framing statements. To wit, some things I would like to work towards in the new year.

Music
I have five guitars, some of them good ones. Collector quality good. They deserve to be played, and I deserve (dammit) to get better. I’m basically playing at the same skill level as I was ten years ago. And I find myself picking one of them up less and less. And there’s no excuse for it; there’s always one or two handy.

Added bonus: I have a repertoire of songs I’d like to learn and begin playing. Let the music begin.

Photography
I want to take more and better photographs, needing to justify (rationalize?) a possible purchase of a new camera body, the 5D. To do so, I need to begin bringing my big kit with me pretty well everywhere I go. Which will be a pain in the ass.

But already, it’s paid off. On the way home from work today, I took two detours to chase down some good leads, and actually took the time to pull the truck over and follow them. It’s a matter of making it a habit.

Organization
I aspire to this, however living between our (now) temporary house and the new place in Inglewood has been hard for me. And I daresay, hard on Ti as she puts up with my clutter. This will be the year to downsize, efficientize, and organize. Like putting labels on the many (many!) power adapters and cables I have so that I know what they’re for.

No really, this is a bigger problem than you might imagine. I have one camera down because I can’t find the charger.

Blog
The blog, she needs a renovation. And an upgrade to a WordPress install that’s been around fo rwell over a year. But that requires that I upgrade my hosting package, port an SQL database that’s damned near 100 Mb over, and all sorts of other heartache.

Alas, it must be done, and it will be done.

Modest goals for myself. Of yeh, and I will exercise more, get out and do more boarding and riding, and get us into Inglewood. Real. Soon. Now.
