Every Sunday, starting around 5pm, two central streets within the walled city of Chiang Mai close down, and begin to close in. The Walking Street markets of Asia (they are prominent now in Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and, I’m sure, other countries too) are a relatively new fixture, within the past ten years.
And they are amazing!
For Calgarians, think of Lilac Festival times 10. Every week. Alberta public health and safety would likely go apeshit.
