Where's Teddy Now?

Back to Thailand

We’re going back.

La Fille ™ has decided that a few months in a beach hut on the Andaman Sea is in order for us. And so it shall be.

Just to review, it will have been about twelve or thirteen years since I was last there (I’ll have to check my passport). This photo was from a favourite time in the far north of the country, in Nong Khai. Playing a homemade version of Risk, on a world map, with beans as counters.

Fun times.

Just to give some background to this post, we (La Famille ™ et moi) are taking a one year, unpaid sabbatical from our teaching jobs in Calgary. Elliotte will be tutored. A travellin’ the World we shall go. (Is there a teacher in the house?)

Our first stop will be Greece, somewhere in the first week of October next year (that’s 287 days from now). About a month after that, we’ll be aim to be in Thailand, a few weeks ahead of the peak tourist season.

And in a beach hut, somewhere.

I had a great time in Thailand; it was my first trip abroad, and the beginning of my travel education. Since then, it’s been about 34 countries, but nothing recently (kids and work will do that to ya!). But Thailand was my first, and it was quite the adventure.

And so the blog will be resurrected with a new theme, and some updates. And this will, for the next 287 days, be the focal point for our trip planning. So for now… come plan with us.
